definitions that our engineers use.
AMD file servers may come in several flavors. AMD file servers carry that name primarily due
to the cabinets having castors for easier movemement within an office environment. Some pedestal cases can be converted for rackmount
use as well. These cases are used by SOS2000 for custom built systems. Converting these cases to rackmount
use generally just requires special hardware. AMD file servers generally have great
expansion capabilities with most starting at eight or more hard drives, multiple power supplies, and even some
that have capabilities of carrying more than one motherboard internally.
